As a dynamic blues performer, Garrett “Big G” Jacobson has been satisfying audiences for more than 20 years. He got his professional start performing with Oklahoma bluesman D.C. Minner at the age of twelve. Within two years Garrett had formed his own band, recorded his first album, and begun performing at numerous clubs and festivals throughout Oklahoma. His recordings have received critical praise in national and regional publications such as Living Blues, Blues Revue, Blues Blast, and Southwest Blues. Although he currently performs mostly in Oklahoma, he and his group have performed at notable venues across the country such as Buddy Guy's Legends, The Chicago Blues Festival, The Grand Emporium in Kansas City, MO, and B.B. King's Blues Club in Memphis, TN. He has also performed with blues greats such as Jimmy Johnson, Carl Weathersby, and Smokey Wilson. With his distinct guitar style and soulful vocals, Garrett Jacobson delivers a soul-satisfying performance not to be forgotten.
Garrett Jacobson started in music as a pianist at the age of seven. He began studying classical music while simultaneously pursuing his love of the blues. During his teenage years, he developed a passion for jazz and was a member of the University of Central Oklahoma Jazz Ensemble throughout both high school and college. As a jazz organist and pianist, Garrett performs regularly at notable jazz venues in the Oklahoma City metro area. With his long awaited CD release on the Hammond organ, In The Moment, Garrett and his trio offer up a set of tasteful originals and standards. With songs such as the hard-swinging title track "In The Moment" and the greasy "Skillet Gravy", Garrett's solid bassline feel and lyrical phrasing creates plenty of memorable tracks.
